The Different Types of IBC Tanks to Sell

The Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC), which is also known as a tank, is very useful equipment for keeping a variety of different kinds of materials, including liquids, in order to assist in the smooth operation of a variety of industries that rely heavily on it to manage their production. Therefore, IBCs need to be manufactured in such a way that they can satisfy both the needs of the consumer as well as the requirements of the manufacturer in a very efficient manner.

A variety of materials can be used in the manufacture of IBCs, as well as some IBCs may include special features that are required by certain industries, such as extra padding that is used to contain troublesome fluids when IBCs are used. As a matter of fact, it is important to note that those who are looking for IBC tanks to invest in will have a variety of options available to them.

How to Sell Used IBC Totes?

It is important to note that there are a number of different types of Intermediate Bulk Containers, and each of them can be used to store a variety of different items, such as food, perfume, and oil among many others. An IBC consists of a number of different components, and these components can be tailored in many ways to suit the specific needs of a particular industry, such as by adding extra outer protection to the IBC or by adding more valves in order to meet a particular industry’s requirements.

Here is a list of the parts of an IBC

Each component helps prevent leakage of the items inside, and each one works together in a positive way.

Plastic Drums

The main component of IBCs is plastic drums, also known as barrels, which contain the contents. IBCs have this as their main component. Drums are usually made from thick plastic and covered in a steel grid to provide extra support. Both stainless steel and carbon steel can be used to make drums.

Steel Cages

There’s usually a steel cage around this type of plastic container. The cage keeps the contents balanced when you put them in the container. A steel cage also protects the cage’s exterior from being poked or damaged.

Metal Pallets

Pallets are on the bottom of these products so you can stack IBCs on top of each other and move them around. A pallet can be made of a lot of different materials, including wood, plastic, and metal. It lifts IBC tanks off of the ground so air can flow under them and machines can easily lift them up when full and need to be removed.

Valves

IBC tanks also have valves, which allow users to remove liquids and other items without messing up. Generally, IBC valves are on the front of the containers and have an opening where a hose can be connected to allow the contents to be safely transported to another container. The design of IBC valves can vary, with some having screw-on caps, while others have a locking handle that you can use to control the flow of liquid.

Clamps

To stop liquid from leaking out of an IBC, clamps are usually used to apply pressure to the valves and sometimes even to the drum itself. This device also has a locking mechanism on the front so it stays in place even when you’re using it.

Steel Gauges

A worker can measure the volume of a storage container with a number of instruments, including gauges. Consumers can choose from a variety of features depending on what they want to see inside their IBC tank and how big it is. A gauge usually has a dial on top that shows the measurements taken and is made from carbon steel or aluminum.

Metal or Rubber Gaskets

IBC tanks need it because it seals up the space between the different pieces to prevent leaks. Different materials and designs are used to make gaskets, some of which are rubber pieces and others are metal rings. Besides being heavy-duty, all of these materials resist corrosion and stains.

Identification Plate

Another important part of IBCs is the identification plate. Here’s where you’ll write down the model number and other specs for the IBC. The identification plate can give you information about your model if you need it later.

There are a lot of materials that go into IBC tanks

Plastic

Plastic IBC bottles are one of the most common types of containers today. This type of IBC tank can hold liquids and solids, and they can hold a lot of them, sometimes up to 3000 liters. To give an IBC extra support, there’s a solid steel grid around the outside.

It’s made of high-density polyethylene and doesn’t contain toxic chemicals that could leak into the IBC tank and contaminate the contents inside.

Carbon Steel

IBC tanks come in a range of materials, but carbon steel is one of the most durable and shock-resistant. In addition to being durable, carbon steel IBC tanks are also lightweight and affordable. When it’s no longer needed, this product can be recycled. Stainless steel IBCs are good for liquids, flammables, combustibles, and items with strong odors, like perfume.

Stainless Steel Tanks

Stainless steel tanks have a lot of benefits, including their ability to withstand heavy loads and resistance to corrosion. Their ability to hold items at high temperatures makes them perfect for industries like chemical and automotive. You can also store flammable items in stainless steel tanks. In addition to being available in a variety of sizes, stainless steel IBCs can hold a lot of weight. Stainless steel isn’t always food-grade, even though some options are.

Different Types of IBC Tanks to Sell

There are lots of different types of IBC tanks for consumers to choose from.

Sell Food Grade IBC Tanks

  • The IBC tanks for food aren’t just for transporting edibles, they’re also for food safety. Food tanks come in all shapes and sizes, from water to fruit juice. They’re used everywhere in the food industry, including in winemaking, since they hold a lot of wine without spoiling. IBC tanks can also store dairy products like milk and cream.
  • Food-grade IBC tanks can be made out of a variety of materials, but stainless steel is often the most popular because it’s sanitary and easy to clean. The food regulator checks these IBC tanks before they’re shipped out to make sure they’re compliant with current sanitation laws.

How to Sell Rebottled IBC Totes

A Robbtled Tote is a container that’s had the inner bottles replaced. Metal cages might have been recycled or repaired.

This type of IBC tank is also known as a caged water tank because it can store a lot of water, which is important for people who work in this industry. Using these products, companies can transport fresh water quickly without worrying about it getting polluted. IBC tanks that have been rebottled might be able to be customized with valves that make it easier to pour water from them. Various sizes of IBC tanks are available, and they’re made of UV-stabilized plastic, so the sun can’t heat up the plastic and cause small particles to escape into the water.

How to Sell Chemical IBC Containers

By storing chemicals in IBC tanks without the risk of leaks, you can store all kinds of chemicals, including dangerous ones. They have the following highlights:

Fertilizers can be stored in these tanks for agricultural use.

Occasionally, they can help with chemical dosing.

Spills are prevented, so the environment isn’t contaminated and waste doesn’t accumulate.

These devices usually have alarms that let you know when they’re full or empty.

Most chemical IBC tanks are made from carbon steel or stainless steel, but they can be made out of almost any material. Because of that, these containers have to comply with FDA regulations, ASME standards, and UN/DOT regulations.

Some consumers might be a bit iffy about using IBC tanks to store chemicals because there are a few materials that can cause equipment malfunctions and even extreme temperature changes due to inadequate storage. Remember, though, that chemical IBC tanks are designed to withstand problems like these, so they can handle the most worrisome chemicals when it comes to containing them.

Pharmaceutical IBC Tanks

  • IBC tanks for pharmaceuticals are often filled with acetic acid, alcohol, alginate, and aluminum formate, among other things. The main purpose of these tanks is to store powders generated by the pharmaceutical industry and to dispose of pills and capsules. Furthermore, pharmaceutical IBC tanks have full traceability, so you can track where they came from and where they’re going. Furthermore, they come with Operator Qualifications (OQ) and Installation Qualifications (IQ). In addition to preventing cross-contamination, these IBC tanks also have silicone rings to ensure that they’re airtight.

Automotive Industry IBC Totes

  • IBC tanks are also used in the automotive industry to store paints, oils, antifreezes, degreasers, and engine cleaners. Aside from being able to use different IBC tanks for different things, they also reduce waste and promote recycling, which would otherwise be difficult if not impossible. IBC tanks can also be used by workers in this field to measure liquids, like oil, with the accuracy they need, without spilling any.
  • Plus, the automotive industry deals with things like gasoline and oil that have strong odors. To avoid heavy fumes that can cause health problems, these liquids may be poured into an IBC.

Resell Reconditioned IBC Tanks

  • It’s obvious by the name that this is a refurbished tank. Despite being used in the past, reconditioned IBC tanks are still durable and are tested rigorously to make sure they work. In addition to that, they are also heavily rinsed in order to make sure that previous particles are removed from the new contents and are not mixed in with them. If you are looking for a form of IBC tank that is affordable or environmentally friendly, then this may be the option for you.
